Stanley Alois Matlosz was born on September 14, 1924, in Elizabeth, Union County, New Jersey. He was the son of Andrew Matlosz and Salomea "Sally" Matlosz. He served in the 320th Infantry Regiment, 35th Infantry Division, as a Private First Class during World War II. PFC Matlosz died from his wounds received in battle on August 2, 1944, during the liberation of Domjean in France. He is now buried in the Normandy American Cemetery and was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
