Libero Marko Rogo was born on June 22, 1912, in Old Forge, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania. He served in the 17th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron, as a Private during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 3, 1944, when his platoon was ambushed by the Germans in the hamlet of Les Rolandières, in the town of Dol-de-Bretagne in Brittany, France. He was awarded the Purple Heart and was buried at Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, Colleville-sur-Mer, Departement du Calvados, Basse-Normandie, France.
