Gilbert Neil Tice was born on September 13, 1921, in Clarion, Clarion County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Howard Leroy Tice and Mabel Belle Switzer Reighard.
He served in the 93rd Bomber Squadron, 19th Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Corporal and a radar operator of B-29-25-MO Superfortress #42-65310 during World War II. He was Killed in Action on March 10, 1945, when the aircraft made a navigational error and crashed into Mt. Fubo.
