Leonard Gottlieb was born on November 16, 1921. He served in the 873rd Bomber Squadron, 498th Bomber Group, Very Heavy, as a First Lieutenant and navigator of B-29 Superfortress #44-69747 during World War II. He was Killed in Action on March 10, 1945, when the aircraft made a navigational error and crashed into Mt. Fubo.
