Richard Marlow Adams was born on May 17, 1923. He was the son of Leslie J. Adams and Nora Johnson Adams. He was the husband of Gertrude V. Adams.
He was assigned to the 710th Bomber Squadron, 447th Bomber Group, Heavy, as a radio operator of B-17 42-31431 (aka Solid Sender) during World War II. Shot down by flak and crashed while enroute to the target in Regensburg on February 25, 1944. He was taken as a POW in Barth, Germany.
