SERVICE IN FRANCE FOR LIEUT. ESKIL Services for Flight Lt Odin John Eskil, Jr. 26, of the Royal Canadian Air Force, RCAF, who was killed August 2 in action in the Laigie-Lisieux area, in France, were held Aug. 3 at the Bayeay Military Cemetery in France. He is the only son of Mr. & Mrs. O.F. Eskil, Jr., Oslo Avenue, Iron Mountain, Mich. Lt. Odin was a graduate of Iron Mountain High School & worked in the Ford Motor Plant. He enlisted in the RCAF in Windsor, Canada. After receiving his pilot’s license, he as assigned to duty in the Aleutians & England. He served with the Allied Fliers who softened up the German defenses in preparation for the invasion of France. He was awaiting a leave when he was killed. Besides is parents he leaves 2 sisters: Miss Barbara, Pinecrest Sanatorium, Powers, Mich. & Miss Norman, Detroit, Mich.
