William Edward Nordeen was born on October 9, 1936, in Amery, Polk County, Wisconsin. He was the son of Carl W. Nordeen and Edna Helena Kirstine Larson Nordeen.
He served in the United States Navy as a Captain. He was a Vietnam War Veteran. He also served as a Naval Attaché in the U.S. Embassy in Athens, Greece. Nordeen was killed on June 28, 1988, in Greece by a terrorist bomb.
