Lawrence O'Neill Weakley was born on April 21, 1917, in St. Joseph County, Michigan. He was the son of Lawrence O'Neill Weakley and Isabella Weakley, of St. Joseph, Missouri.
Lawrence served in the 51 (R.A.F.) Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Warrant Officer First Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on January 27, 1943, when his Halifax DT721 crashed at Huize Padua- Handel between Boekel and Gemert, Noord-Brabant Holland. It was shot down by Oberleutnant Manfred Meurer of the 3./NJG 1, flying a Bf 110 F-4 from Venlo airfield.
