John Edward Tazuk was born in 1922 in Brandon, Brandon Census Division, Manitoba, Canada. He was the son of Harry F. and Marie L. Tazuk, of Chico, California.
John enlisted on December 1, 1942, in Vancouver, Canada. He served in the 433 Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Pilot Officer during World War II. He was Killed in Action on October 6, 1944, when his Halifax aircraft # LW 129 did not return from a night trip over Dortmund, Germany. He is now buried in the Reichswald Forest War Cemetery, Germany, and has a cenotaph in the Glen Oaks Memorial Park, Chico, California.
