Harry Pritchard Shann was the son of Fred Shann and Clara A. Shann of Flint, Michigan. He served in the 214 (F.M.S.) Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Flying Officer during World War II. He was declared Missing in Action on July 30, 1943, when his Stirling aircraft # EF 407, which took off at 22h27 on July 29 from RAF Chedburgh, failed to return from operations. It is believed it was shot down by a night fighter, crashing into the North Sea. F/O Shann's body was never found.
