James Albert Noble, of Detroit, Michigan, was the son of John H. and Bertha A. Noble; husband of Joyce E. Noble, of Sioux Lookout, Ontario, Canada. He served in the #156 Squadron (We Light The Way), Pathfinder Force, of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Flying Officer during World War II. He was declared Missing in Action on September 24, 1944, when his Lancaster aircraft #PB 177 failed to return from a night trip to Calais, France. His body was never recovered.
