Harry Edward Morrissy was born on January 2, 1917, in Cheltenham Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Patrick Morrissy and Sarah Ellen Brannagan Morrissy.

Harry served in the #102 Ceylon Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Flight Sergeant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on December 3, 1942, when his Halifax II W7913, which took off at 01h45 from RAF Pocklington, was shot down by a night fighter (Oblt Ludwig Meister 1.)
