Aubrey Melville Mills of Belleville, Michigan, was born on May 6, 1923, in Ontario, Canada. He served in the 431 Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Flying Officer during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 29, 1944, when his Halifax aircraft # MZ 597 was shot down by an enemy fighter and exploded in mid-air northwest of Stade, Germany, over Butzfleth.
