Allan Frank McCoy, of Chicago, Illinois, served in the #10 Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force as Warrant Officer Second Class during World War II. He was killed on May 14, 1943, when his Halifax aircraft # HR 695 was hit by flak over the target and was temporarily out of control. Sgt. McCoy bailed out without being told to do so and was killed. The aircraft and crew returned to base safely. Sgt. McCoy's body was never found.
