George Joseph Masse was born on May 13, 1918, in Taunton, Bristol County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Emma Cabana Masse.
George served in the #405 City of Vancouver Squadron (Ducimus) of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Flight Sergeant during World War II. He was declared Missing in Action on January 17, 1942, when his Wellington aircraft #Z 8329 was damaged by flak during an attack against Bremen, Germany, and crashed in the North Sea. His body was never recovered.
