Hugh MacLennan was the son of Hugh and Lillian M. MacLennan, of Fanwood, New Jersey. He served in the 408 Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Warrant Officer Second Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on January 14, 1944, when his Lancaster aircraft #DS 767 was lost during a night attack on Brunswick, Germany.
