Robert Lachlan Lochhead was born on June 27, 1924, in Toronto, Canada. He was the son of Fraser G. and Gertrude Lochhead, of Detroit, Michigan.
Robert served in the 431 Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Pilot Officer during World War II. He was killed on April 23, 1944, when his Halifax aircraft # MZ 514 was lost during night operations against Dusseldorf, Germany.
