Russell Quince Leatherman was born in 1919 in Texas. He served in the 115 Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Flight Sergeant during World War II. He was declared Missing in Action on September 21, 1942, when his Wellington aircraft # BJ 962 failed to return from a mine-laying operation. His body was never recovered.
