Norman Robert Lamphear was the son of Orsen Irving Lamphear and Grace M. Lamphear, of Seattle, Washington, U.S.A. He served in the 640 (R.A.F.) Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Pilot Officer during World War II. He was Killed in Action on February 15, 1945, when his Halifax aircraft # NP 953 went missing from night operations over Chemnitz, Germany.
