John William Johnson was born on November 13, 1918, in Pleasantville, Chautauqua County, New York. He was the son of John W. and Jennie S. Johnson.
John William served in the 101 Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Warrant Officer Second Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 9, 1943, when his Lancaster aircraft #ED 697 went missing during operations over Cologne, Germany. His body was never found.
