Reginald George Jennings was born on October 6, 1922, in St. Catharines, Canada. He was the son of Ralph George and Pauline Mary Jennings, of Buffalo, New York.

Reginald served in the 434 Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Pilot Officer during World War II. On February 20, 1944, his crew took off at 23h45 from RAF Croft on a target mission to Leipzig, Germany. Outbound, their aircraft was shot down by a night fighter from 21000 feet near Celle, crashing 0259 3 km N of Hartber 2 km NW of Hohenhameln, Germany.
