Francis Ignatius Roy Bruce Hill, of Forest Hills, New York, served in the 103 (R.A.F.) Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Warrant Officer II during World War II.

On a November 29th daylight raid to Dortmund, WOII Hill was aboard the Lancaster PD465 when his crew encountered heavy traffic over Cologne, Germany. They collided with another Lancaster flown by F/O Simmons. With their plane severely damaged, the pilot ordered an immediate bail-out. Only two of the crew members made it out before the plane exploded. WOII Hill and the rest of his crew are buried in the Reichswald War Cemetery.
