Beverly Morton Harvey was born on May 11, 1923, in Kentville, Kings County, Nova Scotia, Canada. He was the son of Frederick Beverly Harvey, of Watertown, Massachusetts, and Augusta (nee Morton) Harvey.

Beverly served in the 464 (R.A.A.F.) Sqdn. Australia Squadron (Aequo Anima) of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Flight Sergeant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on December 6, 1942, when his Ventura II AE945 aircraft was hit by flak and crashed during an operation against the Phillips Factory at Eindhoven, Holland (The Netherlands).
