Joseph Georges Brian Hall was born on July 21, 1921, in Lachine, Montreal Region, Quebec, Canada. He was the son of Edward Paterson Hall and Gabrielle Hall; husband of Barbara Sykes Hall, of Pleasantville, New York State.

Joseph served in the #425 Alouette Squadron (Je Te Plumerai) of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Pilot Officer during World War II. He was Killed in Action on March 26, 1944, when his Halifax aircraft # LW 693 crashed in the Priory grounds at Christchurch, Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire, England.
