Walter Arthur Evans, of Chicago, Illinois, was born on May 9, 1921, in Toronto, Canada. He served in the #102 Ceylon Squadron (Tentate Et Perficite) of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Flight Sergeant during World War II. He was killed on December 16, 1941, when Whitley aircraft #Z 6973 carrying 12 x 250 lb. general purpose bombs failed to return from a night sortie, presumed enemy action.
