Ivor Emerson was born on April 3, 1915, in Cambuslang, South Lanarkshire, Scotland. He was the son of Harold and Clara A. Emerson; husband of Ruth L. Emerson, of Hackensack, New Jersey.
Ivor served in the 426 Sqdn. (Thunderbird)of the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II. He was killed on March 5, 1945, when his aircraft reportedly encountered severe icing after takeoff and broke up around 40 minutes into the sortie, scattering wreckage over York, England.
