Hershel Homer Davis was born in 1922 in Prineville, Crook County, Oregon. He was the son of Homer Hardin Davis and Maud Amelia Blundell Davis.
He served in the 420 Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Sergeant during World War II. he was Killed in Action on April 20, 1942, when his aircraft crashed on his target mission in Montzen, Belgium.
