Ralph Matthew Costello was born on June 9, 1917, in Waseca, Waseca County, Minnesota. He was the son of Charles and Elizabeth Costello; husband of Marie Handlen Costello.
Ralph served in the #199 Squadron (Let Tyrants Tremble) of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Warrant Officer (Air Gnr.) during World War II. He was Killed in Action on May 24, 1943, when his Wellington aircraft #HZ 582 was lost over enemy-held territory.
