Roger Bentley Clements was born on October 2, 1917, in Goldthwaite, Mills County, Texas. He was the son of W. D. and Tillie Clements.
Roger served in the 37 (R.A.F.) Squadron (Middle East Command) of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Warrant Officer Class II (Air Observer) during World War II. He was Killed in Action with his entire crew at the age of 25 when his Vickers Wellington MK 1C (ES989) was lost without a trace during a bombing raid on Tobruk, Libya. He is commemorated in column 264 at the Alamein Memorial in Alamein War Cemetery, Egypt, and on a commemorative panel at the Bomber Command Museum in Nanton, Canada.
