Stanley Edward Bostwick was born on February 25, 1923, in Pine River, Swan River Census Division, Manitoba, Canada. He was the son of Anthony and Mary Bostwick of Frances, Washington, United States of America.
Stanley served in the 429 Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Flight Sergeant during World War II. He was killed when his Halifax III MZ865 aircraft went down in the sea off Sweden during a night mine-laying operation in the western Baltic south of Copenhagen. His body washed ashore, at Langeland Island, Denmark, 5 months later.
