When Andrew A. Hebert was born on February 12, 1911, in New Hampshire, his father, Louis, was 36 and his mother, Malvina, was 35. He had eight brothers and four sisters. He enlisted in the Army on January 28, 1943 in Manchester, New Hampshire. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in the manufacture of boots and shoes and also as Single, without dependents. Andrew served as a Private First Class, 26th Infantry, 1st Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II. He resided in Strafford County, New Hampshire prior to the war. Andrew was "Killed In Action" in France during the war. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
