Percy Charles Hower, Jr. was born on July 31, 1924. He was the son of Charles Percy Hower and Rose Electra Hess Hower.
Charles Percy, Jr. had four years of high school and had a civil occupation in plumbing, gas fitting, and steam fitting. At the time of his enlistment, he was employed by A.C & F., Berwick, Pennsylvania, and was single without dependents. He enlisted in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, on March 4, 1943.
Charles served in Company A, 2nd Ranger Battalion, as a Technician 5th Grade during World War II. He was Killed in Action on June 7, 1944, at the age of 19, in Vierville-sur-Mer, during the American assault on Omaha beach in France. T5 Hower is now buried in the New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy, Columbia County, Pennsylvania, USA.
