Kenneth A. Hendrickson was born on April 16, 1921, in Washington. He was the son of Arthur James Hendrickson and Lucile B Hendrickson.

Kenneth had two years of high school and was single without dependents upon enlistment. He enlisted in Shelbyville, Indiana, on January 17, 1941. At the time of his death, Kenneth was serving in Company C, 2nd Ranger Battalion, as a Staff Sergeant. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944, at the age of 23, at Pointe de la Percée, during the American assault on Omaha beach in France. SSgt Hayden is now buried in the Forest Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville, Shelby County, Indiana, USA.
