Walter B. Geldon was born on February 7, 1921, in Bethlehem, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Frank J. Geldon and Helen S. Sumera Geldon. He was the husband of Anna Geldon Hitcho Goldsworth.
Walter had two years of high school and had a civil occupation as a Semiskilled machine shop and related occupations, and was married upon enlistment. He enlisted in Allentown, Pennsylvania, on August 24, 1942. He served in Company C, 2nd Ranger Battalion, as a Sergeant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944, at the age of 23, at Pointe de la Percée, during the American assault on Omaha beach in France. Sgt Geldon is now buried in the Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Cemetery, Bethlehem, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, USA.
