Charles Edward Bollia was born on June 25, 1923, in Maximo, Stark County, Ohio. He was the son of August Bollia and Olive N. Miller Bollia.

Charles enlisted in Akron, Ohio, on February 15, 1943. He served in Company A, 2nd Ranger Battalion during World War II. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944, at the age of 20, in Vierville-sur-Mer, during the American assault on Omaha beach in France. T5 Bollia is now buried in the Saint Joseph Cemetery, Maximo, Stark County, Ohio, USA.
