Carl H. Booth, Jr. was born on January 18, 1918, in Evanston, Cook County, Illinois. He served in the 366th Bomber Squadron, 305th Bomb Group, Heavy, as a Flight Officer and Navigator on the B-17 #42-3195 during World War II. He was Killed in Action on October 14, 1943, when his airplane was shot down by a German fighter plane Ofw. Heckmann 1./JG1 and crashed at Waldenrath, Germany. F/O Booth's body was never recovered. His name is memorialized on the Tablets of the Missing, Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands.
