Woodrow Wilcox “Tim” Waddell was born on March 4, 1913, in Cottonwood Falls, Chase County, Kansas. He was the son of Herbert Everett Waddell and Mary May Wilcox Wadsworth.
Woodrow enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force and trained at Hamilton Field, Ontario, Canada. He was assigned to the 405 Squadron. He went overseas to England as a navigator. While stationed in England, he married Hilda Scott. His plane was shot down in a bombing raid over Germany on November 9, 1942, but he was lost.
