Wesley Ennis Fertch was born on March 14, 1914, in New Baden, Clinton County, Illinois. He was the son of Wesley E. Fertch and Sarah E. Norman Fertch. He was the husband of Mildred Jean Fertch.
Wesley served in the 9th Armored Infantry Battalion, 6th Armored Division, as a Sergeant during World War II. He was one of the 75 soldiers killed during the liberation of Plabennec and Plouvien, France. He is now buried in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, Lemay, St. Louis County, Missouri, USA.
