Oscar Faye Blair was born on April 10, 1923, in Morgantown, Adams County, Mississippi. He was the son of Homer Franklin Blair and Hersie Elnora Pearson Blair.
Oscar attended Bolton High School before entering the Army. He served in the 9th Armored Infantry Battalion, 6th Armored Division, as a Private First Class. He was one of the 75 soldiers killed during the liberation of Plabennec and Plouvien, France. PFC Blair is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery, Montjoie Saint Martin, France.
