Frank Dominic Kukuc was born on October 4, 1911, in Slovakia. He was the son of Paul J Kukuc and Ottilia Kukuc.
Frank served in the 44th Armored Infantry Battalion, 6th Armored Division, as a Private First Class during World War II. He was one of the 75 soldiers killed during the liberation of Plabennec and Plouvien, France. On August 8, 1944, PFC Kukuc and TEC5 Woolard were about to gas vehicles in the Bouviac 2.5 miles north of Plabennec, France when enemy artillery started shelling the area. While Woolard ran for cover, he observed Kukuc walking downfield. Afterward, he was unable to locate Kukuc. The next day his death was verified by 1SGT Tropea but wasn't declared dead until August 9, 1945.
