Raymond Walter Kelley was born on March 19, 1918, in De Kalb, Gilmer County, West Virginia. He served in the 44th Armored Infantry Battalion, 6th Armored Division, as a Private First Class during World War II. He was one of the 75 soldiers killed during the liberation of Plabennec and Plouvien, France. He is now buried in the Sunset Memorial Park, Clarksburg, Harrison County, West Virginia, USA.
