Lawrence Vernon Huffmon was born on April 16, 1916, Douglas County, Missouri. He was the son of Joseph Orlando Huffman and Bertha B. Privett Huffmon.
Lawrence served in the 44th Infantry Battalion, 6th Armored Division, as a Private First Class during World War II. He was one of the 75 soldiers killed during the liberation of Plabennec and Plouvien, France. He is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery, Montjoie Saint Martin, France.
