Frank Hunter Crowder was born on June 24, 1912, in Kings Mountain, Cleveland County, North Carolina. He was the son of Marshall G Crowder and Burnice Crowder.
Frank served in the 44th Infantry Battalion, 6th Armored Division, as a Private First Class during World War II. He was one of the 75 soldiers killed during the liberation of Plabennec and Plouvien, France. He is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery, Montjoie Saint Martin, France.
