Otis Mather was born in 1919 in Schuyler County, Missouri. He was the son of Byron Curtis Mather and Mary Belle Spurgeon Mather.
Otis served in the 10th Infantry Regiment, 5th Infantry Division, as a Private during World War II. He was Killed in Action on January 19, 1945, during the liberation of Putscheid, Luxembourg. He is now buried in the Luxembourg American Cemetery, Luxembourg.
