1Lt Cascella was killed in an airplane crash on September 8, 1958, in France while flying the Super Sabre F-100. He is now buried in the Calvary Cemetery and Mausoleum, Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey, USA. 1Lt Cascella was one of the American pilots who died between 1952 - 1967 in air missions flying from Chaumont, France.
