Francis W. Walty was born on February 17, 1920, in Morris County, New Jersey. He was the son of Francis J Walty and Rosetta L Wally.
He enlisted in the Army on January 26, 1941, and at the time of his death, was serving in the 695th Field Artillery Battalion, as a Staff Sergeant. He was killed in Pont-Scorff, France, on August 7, 1944, and is now buried in the Saint Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery, Dover, Morris County, New Jersey, USA.
