William Thaddeus Dillon was born on July 22, 1917. He was married to Frankye Moore Dillon.

William was a member of First Methodist Church in New Port Richey, a member of Chester McKay Post of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans Post 78, Legion of Valor, the Purple Heart Association, Ex-POW Florida State Chapter 1, and member of the American Pharmaceutical Association.

Lt Dillon served in the US Army during World War II. He was one of the 152 allied airmen and soldiers who were helped and hidden in the Freteval Forest camp by the French Resistance to evade German capture.

A former pharmacist at Memphis Veterans Medical Center, Dillon died on May 29, 1994, at the age of 76, at the Heather Hill Nursing Center in New Port Richey, Florida, after a heart attack. He is now buried in the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee, USA. Dillon achieved his highest rank in the Army as a Captain.
