Charles Jerome Corsiglia was born in July 1890 in Chicago, Illinois. He was the son of Louis Corsiglia.
Charles enlisted in the army early in 1917. He was attached to the 33rd Aero Squadron, which mustered on June 12, 1917, at Camp Kelly, TX. On August 11, 1917, the 33rd left aboard the USS Baltic heading for Liverpool. On September 19, 1917, they arrived in Etampes, France. They stayed in Estampes for the next two months before moving on to Issoudun, France, and the 3rd Aviation Instructional Center. The 33rd was put to work immediately constructing the barracks and other utility buildings. That winter was the worst on record. On October 13, 1918, Charles died in an airplane accident. Records don't show what happened. He was buried in the cemetery in Issoudun. He was later exhumed, and his remains were returned to the United States, where he was buried in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois, on November 6, 1920.
