Col. Salvador Abcede (1914 – August 19, 1982) was the leader of the anti-Japanese guerrilla group on Negros. He operated in the mountains of Tanjay, Negros Oriental and later moved to the mountains of Dumaguete City by the invitation of Silliman University ROTC group who also joined the soldiers under the USAFFE 71st Division during the Japanese Invasion and led guerrilla moves against the Japanese.
He was joined by the troops of the Philippine Expeditionary Forces to Korea (PEFTOK) and led the honored heroes from the Battle of Hill Eerie in 1952. Which led to Lieutenant Fidel V. Ramos, other Filipino officers and all troops with aiding American forces of the 45th Infantry Division units in fighting against the Chinese Communist forces under the People's Volunteer Army during the Korean War. He died at Veterans Medical Center.

(Citation Needed) - SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Lieutenant Colonel Salvador Abcede, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action against a hostile force in the Philippine Islands. Lieutenant Colonel Abcede distinguished himself by intrepid actions during the period from 8 July 1943 to 23 March 1945 while serving with the Philippine Scouts. His unquestionable valor in close combat is in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflects great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
Named in his honor: BRP Salvador Abcede (PC-114) was a Tomas Batilo-class fast attack craft of the Philippine Navy. It was part of the first batch transferred by the South Korean government on 15 June 1995, and arrived in the Philippines in August 1995. It was commissioned with the Philippine Navy on 22 May 1996.
