Charles William Reynolds was born on March 16, 1914, in Fairmont, West Virginia. He was the son of William Henry Reynolds and Lessie P. Lake Reynolds. He was married to Emma Pauline Tatterson Reynolds.

Charles served in the 315th Infantry Regiment, 79th Infantry Division, as a Private during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 27, 1944, during the liberation of Vexin, France, and is now buried in the Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-Sur-Mer, France.
